Lara's Goldilocks Story
“The first time I touched a harp, my spine tingled. Flood gates of emotion opened. For years, I had labored with various instruments to accompany my voice – but they all felt like cardboard crackers. The vibrant textures and colors I heard in the harp let me know instantly that THIS was my instrument, and there was no going back. It felt 'juuust right!'”
Lara began writing songs as a child while she rode her horse on the Wyoming prairie. Since then, her passion for exploring nature has taken her all over the world. Travels always leave her with a burning desire to express the beauty, colors, textures, and connections she experiences – and music is her medium.
Lara's debut album, Unlock the Mystery, features legendary tabla player Ty Burhoe. She co-produced the album with talented multi-instrumentalist Jesse Manno. Lara has played at festivals in Florida and Colorado, and has opened for best-selling author Debbie Ford. Her style and vocals are often compared to artists Loreena McKennitt, Joni Mitchell, and Enya.
